In the global railway control systems, most countries require internal control power supply voltages ranging from 24V, 28V, 36V, 48V, 72V, 96V, to 110V. However, a narrow-range input power module fails to cover all these voltages.

To address this issue, MORNSUN launched the UWTH1D_P-6WR3, UWTH1D_LD-10W(F/H)R3, UWTH1D_LD-20W(F/H)R3, and UWTH1D_LD-30W(F/H)R3 series of railway power modules. These modules offer an ultra-wide input voltage range of 14-160V, catering to customers' needs worldwide.

This series has an ultra-wide 12:1 input voltage range and meets global certification standards such as EN50155, EN62368, EN45545, AREMA, CSA62368, etc. It also offers a 3-year warranty.

With a wide operating temperature range and multiple integrated protections, this product ensures the safety and reliability of the system. Additionally, it offers remote control, and output voltage adjustment, effectively addressing issues like line loss and special voltage requirements in various applications.



Advantages

1. Universal ultra-wide input 14-160VDC

According to the EN50155 railway power supply standard, the DC power module needs to provide stable power to the back-end devices within the fluctuation range of the supply voltage. Even with the maximum voltage variation, the power module should output normally and protect the stable operation of the back-end devices.

As shown in the diagram, the EN50155 standard requires the power equipment to operate stably within a voltage fluctuation range of 0.7 to 1.25 times, which is 16.8-137.5VDC. Beyond this range, operation is only required for 100ms and 1s at 0.6 times and 1.4 times, respectively.

To meet the power supply requirements and certification requirements of global railway systems, the UWTH1D_P/LD-xxWR3 series has an input range of 14-160VDC, providing assurance for the stable operation of subsequent equipment.

The traditional input voltage segments of railway power supplies are 9-36VDC, 18-75VDC, and 43-160VDC. With a wide input voltage range of 14-160VDC, the UWTH1D_P/LD-xxWR3 series can cater to the diverse requirements of input voltage segments in one module, reducing the cost for multiple sourcing and certification costs.


2. High reliability

EN50155 requires a power module's highest voltage isolation (input-output) of 1500VAC or 2200VDC. The MORNSUN UWTH1D_P/LD-xxWR3 series offers a reinforced insulation voltage of 3000VAC for input and output, and an input-to-shell withstand voltage of 2800VAC, which improves the product reliability in various applications such as high-altitude environments.

3. Wide operating temperature range: -40℃ to +105℃

The ambient temperature outside the train is usually -40℃ to +50℃, and the internal PCB temperature can reach -40℃ to +85℃, in this case, a power supply with a wider operating temperature range is needed to meet the actual requirements.

The UWTH1D_P/LD-xxWR3 series has a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C. The products have excellent temperature derating characteristics, which simplifies the customer's thermal design. Its high- efficiency and low-loss characteristics greatly enhance the product life and reliability.
